Teen Dazeの新譜Themes For Dying Earthの対訳を前作Morning Worldに続いて担当させていただきました。より内省的でエレクトロニックな印象は、前回のバンドサウンドとはガラッと変わっていて、その背景には前作と今作の間に起きたストーリーがあり、それがドキュメンタリー映像としても発表されています。儚くも美しい作品です。1/25日本先行発売になります。

I did the lyric translation for Teen Daze’s new album “Themes For Dying Earth”. I have also done the translation for the previous album “Morning World” as well, but this time the sound sculpture was contrastive. While “Themes For Dying Earth” was more on the personal/internal side, while “Morning World” was more of a band sound. The background to those changes was described in the documentary movie (the first vid above), an interesting story during the tour he had tells us the story. Great new album, released in advance here in Japan on January 25th.

明けて2017年1月16日ベース録音初日。実はレコーディングは初めての角本氏。とは言え、順調に7曲録り終えました。ベースでもEmery SoundsのSuperbabyが大活躍。超万能。他にもALBIT B-200や銀パネBassmanで音作りしました(実際には使わなかったけれどもRoyal Bigpowerという謎のアンプも登場したり)。Bassmanのスピーカー部をキャビとして使ってみたり、12インチのかっこいい”FORCE”キャビ、そしてアンプからキャビの間にDIを置いてラインを録って混ぜてみたり。よくよく考えてみたら今までのコーカス作品は全部ラインのみで録っていたのでかなり太い音で録れたと思います。dbxのsubharmonic synthesizerやPearlのOctaverなど低音に低音を重ねたり、今回も色々実験してみました。
First session in 2017 was bass recording on Jan. 16th. Again Emery Sounds Superbaby amp worked out beautifully even on bass. We also used Silver face Bassman and ALBIT B-200, added some lows with dbx subharmonic synthesizer, Pearl Ovtaver. 12″ “FORCE” cabinet was really cool. It was actually BJ’s first recording session in his carrier, but everything went OK and we were able to finish 7 out of 10 songs.
