SXSW2010にて、BIG STARの出演が発表されました！
さっき道でSXSWのページをiPhoneで見ながら「まじで！」って思わず口に出してしまった・・。
死ぬまでに一度でいいから見たかった・・・。泣きます。本気で泣きます。#1 Record冒頭”Feel”で連呼している”I feel like I’m dying”。まさにそのままの気分。最高！！！

ああ、歌詞もやばい。”I’m never gonna live again”が”I’m never gonna leave you again”に聴こえるのは僕だけですかね。このチャーリー・ブラウンがオトナになったようなダメ男っぷり。好きだなー。こういう人間でありたい。
一番好きなのはThe Ballad Of El Goodo（何回泣いたか数え切れない）とWatch The Sunrise（朝焼けの中聞くと、世界中が美しく見える）かな。ファーストばっかりだ。今は亡きChris Bellのソロも素敵です。2nd以降も、代表曲の一つですが、例えばSeptember Gurlsなんか最高中の最高です。

ああ、すみません。取り乱しすぎて、今までのレビュー的なやつとテンションが全然違う・・・。
たくさん紹介しましたけれども、最後に代表曲Thirteenを紹介して終わります。

“shake you”には諸説ありますが、文字通り”揺さぶる”よりも、”ハグする”というような意味合いがしっくり来るのかな。紹介し尽くしたのでElliott Smithの遺作”New Moon”に収録のThirteenのカバーは割愛しますが、Youtubeとかにも載っていたのでもしご興味があれば、是非。
しかし、どれも歌詞がとにかく優しい。聴き手に”委ねる”彼らの歌は普遍性を持っていて、いつ聴いても新鮮でどこか懐かしいです。人間としても、バンドとしても、こんな風になれたらいいな。
