あけましておめでとうございます！
元旦からさっそくですがCAUCUS、未発表音源：CAUCUS – What Have You Done (demo, May 2015)でコンピに参加しました。
OTOTOYのインタヴューで語っていた”「What Have You Done」はこのアルバムの中では轟音でうるさい曲なんですけど、僕がデモで作っている段階ではアコギでアルペジオを弾いて最低限のシェイカーとヴォーカルだけだったんです。”の未発表デモ音源です。
さすがにちょっと雑に作りすぎだったんでミックスだけし直したんですが、2015年5月頃に僕一人で録音したデモになります。
いいアルペジオのループができたと思って曲にしたはずが、結局一度全部ゼロに戻して作り直したので、これらのフレーズは日の目を見ることがありませんでした。
McFly RecordsがNew Yearコンピを製作するとのことだったので、せっかくなのでこれを機会に発表。
全然違う曲になっているのでBeforeとAfterの差を楽しんでいただけたら。
また、他にもCAUCUSに関係の深い音源も多数参加しています。

・柳川ソロにNAISHOのtokuyamm9に参加して初めて共作したエレクトロ楽曲：PRAGMA a.k.a. yngw (CAUCUS) + tokuyamm9 (NAISHO) – Not Everything Absorb
・そしてなんとひろこさんが2012年ころまで活動していたsmileloveの未発表音源が！：smilelove – Futakobu Rakuda
※Girl Presidentとsmilelove, あとCAUCUSとPRAGMAはミックスも柳川が担当しています。
他にも今柳川がレコーディングを手伝っているモマーモッツや、nkくん(alicetales/sugardrop)とkawakamiさん(死んだ僕の彼女)のhomeworks、cattle、si,irene、などなど馴染みの深いバンドも多数。
20組20曲全部通して聴いてみましたけれども多種多様でどのバンドも非常に面白い。学生のころコンピを掘っていいバンド探してたりしたんですが、そんな感じで聴いてみてはいかがでしょうかー。楽しいです。

これは個人ツイッターにも書いたことなんだけど、2018年にsmileloveの曲が発表になるっていうのは凄いことだと思います。
Woodsのサポートメンバーとして来日中だったNONHORSEのLucasとのコラボで、シホちゃん、コダマ含む、現Girl Presidentのアベちゃん、ひろこさんの4人みんなで録った作品。録ったのは2010年で、その時からミックスする話は決まってて、僕も立ち会ってルーカスとブースでビール飲んでたりました。たくさんいい思い出も詰まっております。感慨深い！

Happy New Year! CAUCUS had joined in a New Year celebration compilation album by McFly Records in Japan, with a unreleased demo of “What Have You Done”, originally recorded by K in May 2015. “What Have You Done” is one of the louder songs in the new album “Sound of the Air” with roaring guitar sounds, however originally it was more of a quieter song with various clean tone arpeggio layers. I hope you’d enjoy the before and after of these!
In addition, many bands/projects that are related to CAUCUS are participating in this compilation.

*I did the mixing for Girl President and smilelove as well as CAUCUS and PRAGMA.
Many of other indie bands are my friends band, and I think it will be a good intruduction to one of the scene in the Japanese indie music.
For me, it is very exciting for smilelove to release a new song. This song was collaborated with Lucas (NONHORSE) who was touring Japan with the band Woods. I was there as well since I was to mix these bunch of recording sessions afterwards, drinking beer with Lucas and having fun with Abe, Hiroko, Shiho, and Kodama of smilelove. December 2010. It was one of a great memory in those days and I am very happy that we came up to the point of releasing this song in 7 years!
