Music Videoも儚く際どく美しく、それぞれ素晴らしいのでぜひ。イスラエルのアーティストという僕の視点があるからかも知れませんが、歌詞の内容もギリギリの暗喩のような含みを持つように感じました。僕は歌詞を訳すときにアーティストの言葉をなるべく忠実に表現したいと思っていて、慣用句をあえて直訳っぽくすることが多いんですが、今回は特にいろいろと悩みました。アルバムを通して晩夏・初秋に聴き入るにぴったりな温度感にも感じました。おすすめです。
I did the lyric translation for Garden City Movement “Move On”. The music video is as well beautiful, and leave us with somewhat kind of a transient feeling. Maybe it is just because I see them as an artist from Israel, I felt that the lyrics include many metaphor in their expressions. When I do lyric translations, in order to express the words more directly how the artists did, I often do “word‐for‐word translation” for an idiomatic phrase on purpose to include more meanings to it. In this album, it was pretty hard but interesting to decide in which way I should translate, word-for-word and/or paraphrasing. I feel the temperature of this album matching very well to the late summer / early autumn season. Recommended!
